Or at least as real as it gets around here. We thought we had seen every type of precipitation possible for London - rain, sleet, hail, and even a few snowflakes in the air. But this was the view from our balcony last Sunday morning, April 6th.
We left early for church so we could snap pictures along the way. It was fun to see the snow covering the grass...
...and the evergreen trees and bushes.
However, what I've always liked best is when the bare tree branches are coated in white.
Yes, this was a familiar scene growing up in Ohio, attending graduate school in Wisconsin, and even after settling down in Maryland. Somehow, knowing just how rare it is in southern England made it extra special. By the time church was over, the snow was melting and the rain was falling - the latter being a much more familiar sight to us nowadays!
